Privacy Policy
Effective October 10, 2026
Bite collects nothing about you. There's no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
Your pages
Your pages are kept on your devices. With Sync with iCloud turned on in Bite's Settings, they're also kept in your own private iCloud database, stored by Apple under your Apple Account, where only you can reach them. The developer of Bite can't see them. Apple's privacy policy covers iCloud.
What Bite does on your device
- Spotlight: Bite adds the lines of your pages to your device's Spotlight index, so that you can search for them. The index stays on your device.
- Widgets, controls, Siri and Shortcuts read and change your pages on your device. When you speak to Siri, Apple handles your request under its own privacy policy.
- Links on your pages open in Safari's view, or your browser on a Mac. The websites you visit have their own privacy policies.
Sharing
When you share a page, export it, or send it in Messages, it goes only to the apps and people you choose.
The command line tool on a Mac
Bite for Mac includes a command line tool, bite, that can read and change your pages. If you set it up for an AI app, that app can read your pages and may send them to its provider, under that app's own privacy policy. Nothing goes anywhere unless you set this up yourself.
Crash reports
If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may pass on reports of Bite crashing, without anything that says who you are. They don't contain your pages.
Children
Bite collects nothing from anyone, children included.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be on this page, with the date it takes effect.
